In Mâcon, along the Saône, the Cité is gradually taking place inside the current BIVB building. An extension will be added to create a surface area of 1,600 m².
After a period devoted to the demolition and rehabilitation of the existing interior spaces, as well as the preparation of the foundations for the extensions, the teams of RBC Architecture and the ACL Associés agency have just assembled the metal structure, from the company ERTCM Industries based in Epinac [the same company that is in charge of the Cité in Beaune]. The latter reveals the wooden wine press a little more each day, a strong symbol of the architecture of the Cité in Mâcon, which will culminate at nearly 20 meters and will offer a view of the Saône.
The year 2022 will be dedicated to the continuation and finishing of the exterior, as well as to the interior design, including the scenographic tour with the production of all the audio-visual devices.
